Christmas Day

We spent Christian's first Christmas in San Antonio. Christmas morning Christian was eyeing his big present. Wonder what's in there?

Here he is in front of the Christmas tree with all his presents.

We had breakfast and opened presents at Maria's house first. Here his is with some of the stuffed animals he received, a moose from cousin Melissa, and a bear from Abuela.

Playing with the bows and wrapping paper!

Abuela and Abuelo gave him an "aquarium" that lights up and shows the fish swimming by. Christian was mesmerized.

Here he is with Daddy after he opened up his presents at our house. His big present was a swing to hang in the front yard. He has always loved to swing, so I know we'll have lots of fun!

A very satisfied little boy. I think he had a great first Christmas. Can't wait till next year!!

Change is Our Constant

Every week brings a new accomplishment for Christian and a new challenge for his parents! This has been a BIG month for him. It started with him rolling from back to tummy and getting up on all fours. Then, two weeks ago, he started crawling. The race is on! His newest fascination is rolling over, crawling, then climbing and standing up on the side of his crib, which he LOVES to do ONLY when it's time for a nap:) If that isn't enough to make me wonder if they make sleeping pills for babies, his first tooth made an appearance this morning!!! He was super fussy yesterday and would not go down for naps. Javier and I resorted to the old school technique of strapping him in the car and driving. I decided to check his mouth this morning, and sure enough, there's the top of a little tooth showing through. What a whirlwind of stuff for one little baby to go through in one month! On top of all that, he started screeching, and I mean screeching, like a dinosaur this morning. Javier and I blame his dinosaur PJ's he wore for the first time last night. Needless to say, Mommy did not get to sleep in this morning like she hoped. Here's to dreaming of getting some sleep next weekend.

I'm a month late in getting this posted, but Javier and I took some pictures with him when he turned 6 months. Here's the apple of our eye.

A day at the park

The weather has been beautiful, and so today we decided to take Christian to a park.  We also wanted to try out a backpack we have for Christian to ride in.  At first, Christian did not know what to think of the backpack, but after he got used to it he really liked it.  Daddy carried Christian first.

Mommy then took a turn with the backpack.  Christian really enjoyed Mommy carrying him because he could grab her ponytail.

After our walk, Christian got to ride in swing for the first time.  HE LOVED IT!  Here is  picture of him smiling on the swing.

Here is a video of him on the swing.  His smile says it all.

Baby Gourmet

What do you get when you mix a late afternoon latte and a new Baby Bullet? Lots of homemade baby food for Christian! Christian has finally started eating solid food. We tried to feed him once a week for 2 months and would only receives disgusted looks in return. Then, one day, he decided to slurp up his cereal and milk. Now, as we're introducing more foods to him, we decided to invest in the Baby Bullet, which basically purees food. So far, he's eating sweet potatoes and carrots, but now he has apples, squash, and zucchini to try, too.

Mmmmm.....

Happy Halloween!

Our Fierce Dragon!!!

"Why am I sitting here with this weird thing on"?

Our neighborhood has a hayride for all the kiddos. Christian's a little young this year for it, so we just went over to our neighbors house to say "hi" and show off our little dragon. They were one of the stops on the hayride, and they had a  play where mummies came out and scared the poor little ones.

Aggieland

Both Audrey and I were teenagers the first time we went to College Station.  Christian was more fortunate and made his first visit at 5 months.  This past weekend we took a family trip to Aggieland and made the rounds around his mom and dad's old stomping grounds

Christian made a new friend at the bed and breakfast we stayed at. As soon as Christian saw this cigar indian, he smiled and laughed at him.
We also took Christian around campus to see his future school

Christian and Daddy at Sully

Christian and his first true love under the Century Tree

Christian is ready to cheer on his Aggies, but he has to wait a while...he is class of '33

He also has to wait a while until he earns his Aggie Ring, but for now he can stand in this one

Even though he may have to wait a while to get it, he has got his eye on the prize!

In front of Daddy's old dorm, where fish rocha '99 first met fish yoesel, fish herrera, fish godwin, fish zendejas, fish layton, fish small, and fish mejia.  I wonder what fish rocha '33's fish buddies are doing right now?

Mommy and Christian at the Architectural Building, where Mommy took the majority of her classes.  Let's hope he takes after his Mom, actually going to class and graduating on time.

Ready to see a game at Kyle Field...SEC! SEC! SEC!
A trip to Aggieland is not complete without a trip to Northgate. If he is like his dad, this will not be his last time there.

A Man About Town

Every week Christian's into something new. He is SO into grabbing anything and everything. He's able to sit up unsupported. He's also into the jumperoo/activity center, but he doesn't really understand the jumping part yet. He just likes to look at, grab for, and most importantly try to put all the items in his mouth! He loves going for stroller rides, and he's also laughing and smiling so much more! We are so proud of him.

Look at me! I can stand!! With help from Daddy, of course

Cruisin' around HEB. We brought out the shopping
cart cover for the first time.

Chillin' at the mall.

He is such a happy little guy. Love it!!

Sitting up all by himself

"Hmmmm. Will that reach my mouth?"

A Man with Many Hats

An Englishman

Davy, Davy Crockett

Any single gentlman out there, the perfect wingman. A definite chick magnet.

Is that a Panda attacking Javier?
